MCHS Celebrates Apply to College Month
November is Apply to College Month in Georgia, and Marion County Seniors joined the celebration on November 17th by starting, completing, and submitting their university, college, and technical college applications. Forty-eight students participated in the event.
During this time, students were also educated on the FAFSA (federal grant application) form and were able to create a FAFSA account. Students are encouraged to complete all pending applications during the upcoming week and to talk with parents/guardians about completing the FAFSA.
The counseling department at Marion County Middle/High School hosted the event, which was executed by Melissa Jernigan, High School Counselor; Melissa Price, Middle School Counselor; and Anna Blankenship, Counseling Department Intern. Assistance was provided by Luke Ellis, Admissions-Georgia Southwestern State University; Rees Walker and Seleta Rogers, Marion County Retired Educators; Cpt. Laurkee Adedeji and MSG Izaiah Munoz, 1st Battalion, 81st Armor Regiment at Fort Benning; and Petty Officer Teneya Stroud, U.S. Navy.
