The Class of 2025 met this morning to discuss cap and gown ordering. Orders may be placed on Thursday, September 26th, from 6-7 p.m. in the gym. Representatives from Herff Jones/Bowen Grad will be on hand to help with ordering and answer questions. Students were able to register on the Bowen Grad site this morning, so they should be able to place orders through that account as well.
For parents who would like to view the catalog, you may visit http://bowengrad.com and select "Marion County High School." Students only have to order a cap and gown to participate in the May 24th ceremony. (Students enrolled in our 2nd Chances program may purchase a cap and gown, but it is optional for them.) Many more items may be ordered, and payment can be done on Thursday evening through check, cash, or money order. If you prefer to order via card through the website or app, that is fine also.
At the Grad Fair on Thursday, local college representatives and military recruiters will be on hand to talk to students and parents. Students who order online may still come and visit with these representatives. The following groups have confirmed attendance: Columbus State University, Columbus Technical College, Georgia Southern University, Fort Valley State University, South Georgia Technical College, Georgia Southwestern, Marines, and Army.
Seniors were also given information regarding Georgia Match, as their letters should arrive in the next two months. Georgia Match is a program from the Georgia Student Finance Commission to help students select in-state colleges based on admission requirements. Note: These letters are not an acceptance. They are an invitation to apply.
Seniors have also been informed about scholarship applications that are available through their Teams account. Meeting notices, etc., are also posted there. This includes information from the Yearbook staff regarding Senior ads, surveys, and ballots.
Seniors may also search for scholarships via Google/search engine with their specific information, and even through TikTok, Instagram, and other apps.
