ISO approved glasses will be provided to all students. The glasses were purchased from Explore Scientific, LLC., which provided the school system with a copy of the lab results where the glasses were tested.
PRE-K through 2nd grade has no plans to go outside with the students. They will give out the glasses and talk about it with the students before they leave school that day.
Grades 3 -12 are planning some type of outside activity for students with parental consent.
Parents have the option to not send students to school that day or check them out early for any concerns on safety. By participating in the event, parents have agreed that the district is not liable for any safety/health concerns for students who do not abide by the safety protocols provided.
If you wish for your son/daughter to receive a pair of the solar eclipse glasses, compliments of the Marion County School System, please indicate your choice on the parent letter that comes home tomorrow, 3/26. Signed letters are to be returned by Friday, March 29th. If you have any questions, please contact your child's principal.
