Marion County Middle/ High School hosted its annual Career Extravaganza on February 28, 2024. All students in grades 6-12 were able to rotate through a fair consisting of college and career representatives, along with a special college presentation from GSW’s Jonathan Scott, a military presentation from Army Sergeant Eric Kenton, and a work ethics presentation by RESA’s Heidi Goodin. STEAM activities were also available for students during the fair.
College and career representatives included: LK Moss Elementary, People's Bank of Georgia, Marion County Extension, SGTC Manufacturing, CSU Marketing, Columbus Hospice, the Department of Natural Resources (game warden), RESA, Georgia Power, and admissions personnel from Columbus State, Columbus Tech, Georgia Southwestern, and South Georgia Tech. Representatives from many of the MCHS Career Pathways and student organizations were also on hand to speak with students about the opportunities they offer. These included: DECA, Engineering, Food Science, Early Childhood, Marketing, Work-Based Learning, and Digital Media.
