Renowned Speaker Yvonne Harvey-Williams Brings Students a “Reset”
Drugs, alcohol, vaping, depression, bullying, cyber-influence, low self-esteem: All these factors can greatly influence the lives of tweens and teens. Yvonne Harvey-Williams understands that influence and strives to help youth across the nation take control of themselves and their stories. One of her taglines, “It’s not about how you start, but how you finish” is a mantra that Marion County Schools wants to pass on to students. No matter their setbacks, mistakes, or difficulties, teens all have the power to make positive choices for themselves.
Harvey-Williams is no stranger to Marion County, having spoken to students numerous times in various settings from school to Family Connections over the past eighteen years. She has formed strong community bonds and created a legacy of hope among at least two generations of students. Born in Patterson, New Jersey, to a teenage single mother, Harvey-Williams deeply understands struggles and what it takes to overcome a painful past. She went on to create a generational legacy that includes two well-educated and well-loved sons.
Today, Harvey-Williams is the author of five books and the CEO/founder of Speak2Inspire. She has interviewed multiple celebrities in various platforms, but students from across the nation would argue that SHE is a celebrity.
