Annalee Taylor, Mandi Dickerson, Lisa Penoncello, and Principal Loranda Holmes traveled to Atlanta and stayed for two weeks of training on the Orton-Gillingham approach to learning. Hannah Singleton also completed the rigorous two week training online. This approach is based on direct, individualized, explicit, and multi-sensory instruction with focuses on phonemic, phonological, and morphological awareness. This approach is specifically aimed to benefit students who have dyslexia. They hope to bring their hours of hard work and training back to L.K. Moss Elementary to continue their efforts in closing the gaps and fulfilling L.K.‘s vision to be among the best schools in the state of Georgia!
